- MARK WILLIAMSON

DIGITAL technology specialist Incremental Group has bought a consultancy in Cheshire in a deal the firm said would give it critical mass in North West England.

Glasgow-based Incremental also signalled interest in further takoevers as it acquired Northwich based Gap Consulting for an undisclosed sum five months after opening a sales office in Manchester.

The acquisition forms part of a push for growth in the UK market which Incremental reckons will help it grow turnover to £60 million by 2022.

Incremental is expected to report sales of around £7m for its latest year. Gap had £3.2m revenues in 2017.

Incremental was formed in 2016 by a team led by Neil Logan in the expectation there would be strong demand for its services from companies and public sector bodies wanting to maximise the potential of digital technology for their organisations.

Mr Logan has held senior technology posts at Lockheed Martin and Amor group.

He said Gap Consulting was a great fit for Incremental, adding: “While we are seeing a strong pipeline of organic growth over the next couple of years, we will continue to evaluate potential targets to identify value accretive acquisitions.”

Incremental has won backing from Maven Capital Partners and Scottish Investment Bank.

Gap Consulting has 40 employees and specialises in the health, professional services and not-for-profit sectors. Incremental’s employee numbers will increase to 125 following the deal.

It bought Inverurie firm First ebusiness Solutions, a provider of digital services to oil and gas firms, in December 2016.
