SQUASH Scottish No.1 Alan Clyne received more good news yesterday when a late withdrawal handed him a place in the main draw at the Swedish Open in Linkoping, writes LorinMcDougall.
Clyne retained his Edinburgh Sports Club Open title on Sunday and had thought he needed to come through two qualifying matches in Sweden, beginning yesterday against Michael Babra.
“Someone pulled out, so I play [Colombia’s world No.14] Miguel Rodriguez on Thursday now,” explained Clyne, who progressed as the highest-ranked player in the qualifying draw.
