SPORT IN BRIEF
BASKETBALL Glasgow Rocks need to stop their second-half slumps if they want to seriously chase the BBL title, assistant coach Erik Olsen has claimed,
The Scots, currently sitting third, are on a roll with five wins out of six headed into Plymouth Raiders’ visit to the Emirates Arena on Sunday.
But Olsen claims the Rocks have been getting away with a few too many slips that their rivals would happily punish. “That’s a theme for us,” the American said.
Elsewhere Plymouth are set to confirm their spot in next month’s BBL Trophy final in Glasgow tonight when they take a 96-78 cushion into the second leg of their semi with Worcester Wolves. ICE HOCKEY Craig Cescon was yesterday ruled out of Dundee Stars’ line-up for Saturday’s Elite League clash at Braehead Clan,
The 30-year-old defenceman is still recovering after eye damage in Sunday’s home win over Fife Flyers. Cescon, who joined the club from Morzine-Avoriaz in France, was involved in an incident with Flyers’ Justin Fox who has been banned for five games.
