STUART MCCALL insists 55 is the only number being talked about in Glasgow this season as Rangers close in on the Premiership title.
Steven Gerrard’s side took another step towards the silverware with a 4-1 victory over Dundee United on Sunday as they maintained their unbeaten league run. The Ibrox side then saw Old Firm rivals Celtic suffer another defeat as they were beaten by Ross County and Gerrard’s side could be crowned champions at Parkhead next month.
McCall savoured the glory days of nine-in-a-row at Ibrox and he is delighted to see his former club closing in on their first league flag in a decade.
McCall said: “It has just been outstanding, both in Europe and domestically. [Gerrard] has done an outstanding job alongside his backroom staff and the players deserve enormous credit.
“All season the number that has been talked about has been ‘10. The only number that is talked about in Glasgow now is 55 and it is on its way.”
