Beahons lining up more one-off kits despite loss

-

RANGERS’ only domestic defeat of the season came as their players were kitted out in Castore’s retro-style jerseys – but co-founder Tom Beahon insists that won’t stop his brand designing special edition kits in future.

Rangers were knocked out of the Betfred Cup to St Mirren back in December in a late 3-2 win for the Paisley outfit. All the talk pre-match was about the Govan side debuting their new kit, but things did not go to plan and Jim Goodwin’s side got the better of them on the night.

Beahon chuckled at the suggestion of any sort of superstition that may prevent his company from creating new and unique first-team wear in future, though, and hinted that there will be more designs of a similar nature to come.

“I’m not superstitious and I think that was a really good product,” he laughed. “It sold incredibly, too, even if on the park it didn’t quite work. The launch and the design went down very well with fans but I think we were all a bit surprised at that result, with no disrespect intended to St Mirren!

“But I’m not superstitious and we’ve certainly got plans to do more limited edition, special edition kits and hopefully there will be better results to come with them.

“The gold embroidery kit we created for the title win, for example, has been very popular and we wanted to mark what is clearly a historic moment in the club’s history. We knew there would be a lot of emotion as part of the Rangers journey. It just felt right to mark the occasion and bringing the title home.”
