SCOTLAND David Marshall

Should have done a lot better with the opening goal from Dor Peretz. But made important stops from Manor Solomon and Shon Weissman in the first half.

Stephen O’Donnell

Solid enough defensively but was caught out positionally a couple of times. Was confined to his right-back berth but kept the usually impressive Eran Zahavi quiet.

Andy Robertson

Tried his best to get forward down the left flank on the attack and defended well against the dangerous Eliazer Dasa. Final ball was poor on the few occasions he got into a decent attacking position though.

Jack Hendry

Hooked at half time following a poor showing in the first half. Should have closed Peretz for Israel’s opening goal. Was wrongly booked by referee Deniz Aytekin.

Grant Hanley

7 Made a couple of important blocks in the opening 45 minutes. Was strong in the tackle and impressive in his aerial duals. A solid defensive display.

Kieran Tierney

Looks at home in the left centre-back slot and was also comfortable in a central defensive pairing when Scotland changed to a back four at half time. Gives Scotland a great option when he carries the ball out from defence.

John McGinn

The overhead kick hero was poor by his standards. Was utilised in an attacking midfield role but never got close enough to the attacking duo of Che Adams and Ryan Fraser. Was careless in possession too. Not a great night for the Aston Villa man.

Scott McTominay

6 Should have scored with a header in the first half and was caught napping for the opener. Failed to get the ball down and play during the first period, but was much brighter in the second. Battled well in the middle and always looked forward for a pass.

Callum McGregor

5 Plenty of energy shown from the Celtic midfielder, but failed to put his stamp on the game. In a tight midfield the 27-year-old lost possession on a number of instances and looked sideways on too many occasions.

Ryan Fraser

7 Always looked a threat with his pace, but failed to get in behind the Israeli back line as much as he would have liked. Took his goal expertly. Scotland’s most dangerous player on the night.

Che Adams

6 Struggled to hold the ball up and link play for the best part. Could not be faulted for effort though and must be applauded for his work in the build-up to Fraser’s equaliser. Unlucky not to grab a goal of his own with a curling attempt in the second half.

SUBSTITUTES Ryan Christie

5 (for Hendry, 45) Added a fresh dimension to Scotland when he came on. Supported the strikers well and looked a threat.

3 (for Adams, 75) Put himself about in the dying stages.

(for McGinn, 75) Showed a few neat touches.
