What is it?

AN ultra-powerful all-purpose laptop. The holy grail of laptop development has always been a portable machine powerful enough to replace the desktop. Razer believes it has achieved just that with the Blade Pro.

Good points?

As a laptop goes, this is about as good as you can hope for while maintaining true portability. The 17-inch display is large enough for intricate operations such as graphic design or spotting enemy troops on the latest game without requiring the services of a chiropractor after lugging it about.

The graphics chip is provided by NVIDIA’s GeForce 1080 series, which was created specifically for 4k and virtual reality content – the most powerful a consumer can realistically buy.

The Blade Pro also comes equipped with an Intel i7 quad-core processor, 32GB RAM and a 510GB SSD hard drive which all combined boosts performance beyond anything that has come before.

The mechanical keyboard also deserves top marks and has no equal among its competitors.

Bad points?

The cost is staggering and will put it out of reach of the lion’s share of consumers. This is a specialist machine aimed at gaming fiends.

Best for ...

Those who need the power of a desktop while on the move. Ideal for music venue technicians or hardcore gamers who want to play anywhere.

Avoid if ...

You don’t have wealth akin to the GDP of a small country or Middle Eastern royalty. This laptop is the computer equivalent of a pimped-out Lamborghini.
