GEORGE CLARKE
FIRST CAR?
It was a Fiat Uno. I was lucky enough to be given it by my uncle when I was 17 and had just passed my test. I sold it when I got to university as I couldn’t afford the stupidly expensive insurance, which was more than three times what the car was worth!
CURRENT CAR?
I’m driving a Range Rover Sport at the moment. I like it for all sorts of reasons – there is loads of space for my kids, it’s really great for driving in remote rural locations when I’m away filming (and that’s a lot at the moment), it is super comfortable and the way I’ve spec’d it, it is a great looking car.
DREAM CAR?
I’ve been lucky enough to have owned my dream car already. It was a beautiful Aston Martin DB9 designed by my very good friend Ian Callum who is now at Jaguar Land Rover. It really is a stunning car and I can’t think what could beat it in terms of combined looks and performance.
FAVOURITE DRIVE?
My favourite drive ever has to be Route 1 on the Californian Coast road...as it’s on the west coast it gets the most beautiful sunset. LEAST FAVOURITE DRIVE? The M25 around London. It is hell on earth.
BEST ROAD TRIP SOUNDTRACK?
It has to be Alright Now by Free. It is my ultimate road trip song.
IDEAL PASSENGERS?
Audrey Hepburn. Like the DB9, she is beauty personified.
