ON THE ROAD

-

THERE are deals, and then there is the deal of deals. It is a confident hotelier who releases an offer under such a title, but in the case of the Royal Highland Hotel in Inverness, their recently released special offer more than lives up to the billing.

The hotel itself has been a landmark in the city since its opening in 1856 as the Station Hotel, and as its former name suggests, the hotel enjoys a wonderful location slap-bang in the middle of the city.

Despite the namechange, the Royal Highland Hotel has retained its individuality, and as such, manages to strike the balance between modern facilities with a classic ambience while maintaining a steadfast commitment to oldfashioned traditional Scottish hospitality.

The hotel is therefore the perfect place for a highland getaway at any time, but by taking advantage of the ‘deal of deals’, you can enjoy fine dining and a relaxing escape at a fraction of the normal rate.

The two-night break kicks off with welcome cocktails on arrival, as well as afternoon tea at your leisure.

Then in the evening, you will enjoy a luxurious two-course A la Carte meal in the hotel’s popular Ash Restaurant, all included in the rate.

After your dining experience, the likelihood is that you will want to dine in the restaurant again on the second night of your stay, and if two people plump for two or more courses once more once again, you will receive a free bottle of wine to enjoy along with your meal.

All of this is on offer for just £144 in total, with a £30 surcharge for Friday and Saturday stays. There is also the option to upgrade to one of the hotel’s Royal Rooms for just £30 per night.

So, while the name of the deal encourages lofty expectations, the Royal Highland Hotel more than lives up to them.
