Two weeks ago, the launch show introduced the class of 2018 to their new professional partners – and the viewers to some of the lesser known names in this year’s line-up. Now it’s time to find out how those pairings are getting on as the competition begins in earnest and Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman invite the 15 couples to take to the floor. Many Strictly fans will be expecting big things from Ashley Roberts, Faye Tozer and Lee Ryan, who all have pop band experience, but will one of the other contestants emerge as a dark horse? The good news for anyone who fails to impress is that no one will be going home tonight, but judges Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood’s scores will carry over to next week.
This Australian drama series based on Ivan Sen’s feature film stars Aaron Pedersen as seasoned detective Jay Swan, who is sent to the remote outback town of Patterson for what he thinks will be a simple investigation into the mysterious disappearance of two young farmhands, one a local indigenous football hero and the other a backpacker. However, he soon clashes with local cop Emma James (Judy Davis) and uncovers crime, corruption and miscarriages of justice throughout the town’s history. In the second episode of the opening double bill, two troublesome visitors arrive in town causing havoc.
How the Victorians Built Britain (C5, 9pm)
Michael Buerk looks at the creation of mass manufacturing, which meant goods could be produced at a rate that had never been seen before. Michael also discovers how the sewing machine – newly created in 1851 – created the rag trade, and visits what was probably the first shopping mall in the UK, the Burlington Arcade in London.

In the aftermath of her recent assignment, Villanelle is ordered to take a break but she goes ahead with her next mission regardless. Meanwhile, after being sacked by Frank for the debacle at the hospital, Eve is stunned to be presented with her dream opportunity – a secret, off-the-books department, a mission she is truly invested in and the chance to build and lead her own team. Her target is Villanelle. Spy thriller, adapted for television by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.
SUNDAY Battle of Britain: Model Squadron (C4, 8pm)
The final edition of the series in which model aircraft enthusiasts from Britain and Germany recreate the Battle of Britain focuses on the events of September 15, 1940 – the climax of the entire operation. This was the moment when the RAF threw everything it had at the Luftwaffe as it circled above London, ready to bring death and destruction to its streets. It’s also the moment when Douglas Bader’s controversial so-called Big Wing tactic – involving
