Double delight for Westpoint Homes
WESTPOINT Homes achieved recognition in, not just one, but two, top awards at this year’s Herald Property Awards.
The housebuilder was presented with Best Apartment for its desirable development at Scholars Court in Newton Mearns, and Best Individual New Build or Small Development of the Year for its prestigious Ranfurly View in Bridge of Weir.
Both developments are distinctively different and showcase the diversity that the Westpoint Homes team brings to the housebuilding industry. Westpoint is renowned for its unique approach to creating bespoke property designs for each of its developments. The team prides itself in ensuring that no two Westpoint developments are the same.
Responding to the win, Stephen Cullis, Chairman of Westpoint Homes, said: “We are so pleased to have our work recognised at these Scottish awards and it means a lot to all of us, especially at the time when everyone is working late trying to overcome the challenges which allow us to create the very best development we can for our buyers.
“Each award, in fact each development, is the result of a massive team effort where everyone combines their skills to create something special and that approach is applied to every development. Our land team is committed to finding the best locations and our design team can then consider what can be created to best suit the environment and the needs of local buyers, whether that be people looking for a luxury large villa for a growing family or an equally luxe apartment suited to downsizers. Considerable effort goes into every development that we build.”
The team were especially delighted to win the prestigious title for Ranfurly View, in the highly sought-after Bridge of Weir, the development features four grand detached homes and four substantial villa apartments overlooking the 18th fairway of the impressive Ranfurly Castle Golf Course.
All properties were conceived and designed in celebration of architect, John Campbell, a distinguished Edwardian Glasgow architect and a contemporary of Charles Rennie Mackintosh who designed many of the neighbouring villas on Clevans Road as well as the imposing Ranfurly Castle Golf Club which is adjacent to the development.
Only two villa apartments remain for sale. The Clevans is an upper villa apartment boasting an impressive 2,196 sq ft, offering all the floor space normally associated with a large family home.
It features an integral garage and a stairway which opens out to a spacious garden room with French doors and a Juliette balcony inviting picturesque views across the 18th fairway.
The main accommodation is located on the upper floor and includes a large lounge with a separate dining room. The fitted kitchen is generously proportioned to include a breakfast table if desired. The apartment features three large double bedrooms – both the master bedroom and second bedroom benefit from fitted wardrobes and en-suites. The Clevans also features a shower room, a convenient utility room and plenty of storage space and is priced from £499,000.
In sharp contrast Scholars Court, in the heart of Newton Mearns, was built on the former site of Old Mearns Primary School on Ayr Road within walking distance of The Avenue Shopping Centre. Featuring 27 one and two bedroom apartments set within four different blocks, the development proved to be top of its class and sold out within months.
Caryl Speirs, Sales and Marketing Manager added: “Scholars Court was particularly appealing to local buyers keen to stay within the community although wanting
to downsize. Designing for buyers looking to move from a larger property into an apartment can be quite tricky. Although you don’t want the upkeep and maintenance of a larger home, buyers still want to retain as much space as possible. Our design team got it spot-on at Scholars Court and that, combined, with its convenient location, proved to be a winner.”
Westpoint Homes is already looking forward to the year ahead with a number of exciting new developments in the pipeline. A new show home has opened at Rosebery Grange in Dalmeny, near South Queensferry and a new development of grand luxury apartments is about to be launched in Pollokshields. Current developments also include Southgate Court in Pollokshields and Knights Grove in Newton Mearns. Check westpointhomes.net or calling 0141 644 2223.
