Peter Kay’s Comedy Shuffle (BBC1, 9pm)

distinguis­hed literary awards for fiction in the English language and is about to celebrate its 50th birthday. However, as this documentar­y shows, it didn’t become a central part of Britain’s cultural life without a few scandals, intrigues and an awful lot of gossip along the way. Here, former winners and judges share their stories of bruised egos and bickering panels, while celebratin­g the Booker’s record for drawing attention to brilliant books.

The comedian, actor, writer and director returns to look back over more memorable moments from his career, featuring clips from his TV shows and music videos. This edition includes musings on the wonders of garlic bread, the scene in which Max and Paddy flattened a cow after their mobile home ran into it, and talent night down at the Phoenix Club for Brian Potter, and there is a special appearance by children’s animated favourite Peppa Pig.

Old People’s Home for Four-Year-Olds (C4, 9pm)

Week three of the experiment at Lark Hill retirement home is all about memory, finding out whether the classmates can all remember one another’s name well enough to write them out on the blackboard. They also visit a maze, which is then re-created to scale on the nursery floor and everyone has to try to recall the way out. Friendship­s start to blossom, as four-year-old Lily persuades 87-year-old Ken to swap his chips for her vegetables, while he bonds with 84-year-old Fred.

TUESDAY Blue Peter: Big 60th Birthday (CBBC, 5pm)

The longest-running children’s television show in the world celebrates its birthday with a one-hour live special. Former presenters will be joining the current team for makes, games and a look back at some classic moments, while viewers will find out what’s going inside the Diamond Time Capsule. There’s also a guest appearance from Ed Sheeran and music from Blue Peter royalty Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the singer and daughter of former host Janet Ellis.

The Great British Bake Off (C4, 8pm)

It’s Danish Week and the bakers face unfamiliar recipes as they battle to impress the judges. There’s a bread challenge Signature, where they must demonstrat­e style as well substance. Paul Hollywood sets a spherical Technical and with a place in the semi-final at stake, everyone is out to impress Prue Leith and him. For their final challenge, the bakers must deliver an elaborate pastry Showstoppe­r fit for a Danish birthday party. Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding guide us through proceeding­s before the latest baker is shown the exit.

Informer (BBC1, 9pm)

After the success of Bodyguard comes another BBC thriller with a counter-terrorism angle. Informer stars newcomer Nabhaan Rizwan as Raza, a young, second-generation British-Pakistani man from east London, whose night out with his girlfriend takes a disastrous turn when he is arrested. The incident brings him to the attention of ambitious new counter-terrorism officer DC Holly Morten (rising star

Black Lightning (Netflix, from Tue)

Cress Williams is back as high school principal Jefferson Pierce, who leads a double life as crime-fighting superhero Black Lightning. It’s an alter ego he thought he’d put to bed years ago, but has been forced to bring out of retirement in order to lead the fight against a local gang. The initial series, which is based on a DC Comics character, went down a treat with fans who will welcome this 13-part run. This time, Jefferson and his family have survived being under attack but they’re not safe yet and further challenges lie ahead, not least for Jefferson’s daughter Jennifer, who is struggling to deal with her own powers. Thankfully, a telepathic meta-human therapist is about to lend her a hand.

Making a Murderer: Part 2 (Netflix, from Fri)

Netflix has backed a number of amazing series, with the likes of The Crown, Stranger Things and House of Cards grabbing the world’s attention. But these are big budget production­s packed full of stars; the success of Making a Murderer has been more of a surprise – there can surely have been few documentar­ies to have gripped viewers quite so much in recent times. The first series was filmed over 10 years and followed the life of Steven Avery who, with his nephew Brendan Dassey, was convicted of murdering photograph­er Teresa Halbach.
