Norton has 50 little goats to disbud, so that they don’t injure themselves or each other. However, Doris the kid is playing hide-and-seek. In Skeldale, Peter has an extreme operation to perform on border terrier cross Poppy. Bone cancer has been spreading through one of her legs and the only hope of saving her is to remove the limb. Devoted owners Brian and Carole want to give her every chance to live but how will she recover?

Raza uncovers a promising new lead but the toll of his double life begins to weigh heavily on him as he attends Yousef’s funeral seeking informatio­n. The CTSU members continue to follow up all leads, including an unexpected tip that prompts them to follow an Albanian crime family, the Gramos. Gabe runs into a ghost from his past and his behaviour piques Holly’s interest and, noticing a change in his older brother, Nasir follows Raza and inadverten­tly makes a new friend on the Bridge Town Estate.

The Fires That Foretold Grenfell (BBC2, 11.15pm)

The haunting story of five fires that came before the Grenfell disaster, told through the eyes of those directly involved and filmed over 12 months by Jamie Roberts. The film collates the memories of survivors, the bereaved, firefighte­rs, safety experts and the politician­s linked to five fire disasters that preceded Grenfell, showing the warnings that existed and may have predicted a Grenfell-type inferno happening in Britain. The programme focuses on three factors: the applicatio­n of flammable material and cladding to buildings, the “Stay put” advice given by fire services and the absence of sprinklers.

WEDNESDAY Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs (STV, 8pm)

The canine-loving comedian is back for a new run of the acclaimed documentar­y set in Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Episode one features a dachshund and her pups, which staff suspect have escaped from a puppy farm. She’s made a new home on a golf course, so the employees name her Birdie. Because two of the puppies have eye injections, they need to be separated from their mother and hand-reared. Unsurprisi­ngly, Paul soon falls in love with pups Caddy and Pitch when he sees them being cared for. The host also meets Sophie, a four-year-old cane corso, also known as an Italian mastiff, a breed known to have been used by Roman soldiers during wars.

The Secret Life of the Zoo (C4, 8pm)

Zookeepers are concerned about pregnant elephant Thi as they believe she may be three months overdue. The risks for Thi and her unborn calf are growing by the day and the keepers are worried. Meanwhile, rampant male Rothschild giraffe Meru causes problems for the giraffe herd as he relentless­ly chases the females, and male clownfish Polo gets injured while fighting with the other males for the attentions of dominant female Rosie.

Watchdog Live (BBC1, 8pm)

Matt Allwright, Steph McGovern and Nikki Fox return with another series of investigat­ions, including the flytippers dumping rubbish on an incredible scale
