SATURDAY Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) (STV, 6.20pm) Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) (Channel 4, 7pm)

When we catch up with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint), they are still on the hunt for horcruxes, the objects in which Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) has hidden parts of his soul to render him immortal. Unfortunately the dark lord has worked out what they’re up to and amasses his followers for one final showdown at Hogwarts. If you thought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 could have done with a little more magic and a little less teenage angst, never fear: the brains behind the movie saga were saving up all the action for Part 2.

During a TV blackout in 1969, the crew of Apollo 11 retrieves an important Autobot artefact and returns it to Earth, unaware that more than 40 years later the device will spark a titanic war with the Decepticons. As usual, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is caught in the eye of the storm, joined by his new girlfriend, Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). While Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and the other Autobots protect the humans, field commanders Major Lennox (Josh Duhamel) and Master Sergeant Epps (Tyrese Gibson) spearhead the final stand against the Decepticons.

SUNDAY Goosebumps (2015) (Channel 5, 4.05pm)

Gale Cooper (Amy Ryan) arrives in Delaware with her teenage son Zach (Dylan Minnette) to take up the position of vice-principal at Madison High School. Zach and his socially awkward pal Champ (Ryan Lee) break into Mr Shivers’ home and discover that he is actually renowned horror author RL Stine but they accidentally unleash the monsters from his back catalogue. Goosebumps is a fast-paced, family fantasy adventure, packed full of spooks and scares that should have adults jumping out of their seats almost as often as little ones.

Deepwater Horizon (2016) (Channel 4, 9pm)

Engineer Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) boards a helicopter to the drilling platform Deepwater Horizon, 40 miles off the coast of Louisiana. Other passengers include installation manager Jimmy Harrell (Kurt Russell) and third mate Andrea Fleytas (Gina Rodriguez). Once they land, Jimmy becomes concerned that the officials, including well site leader Donald Vidrine (John Malkovich), have not carried out sufficient checks to ensure the drill is operating safely. Soon after, a massive blowout tears through the rig and crew members race against time to lower lifeboats into the water before flames engulf the entire structure.
