5 THINGS WE HAVE LEARNED THIS WEEK
1 FASHION FAIL
It’s been a bad week for pop-related fashion. A London designer accused
Janelle Monae, above, of plagiarism after seeing the latex costume she wore for her Grammy routine. Meanwhile Katy Perry had to issue an apology after a shoe design from her clothes label was deemed racist.
2 HOWARD’S BACK
Marvel is reviving one of its more outre characters, Howard the Duck, for TV. Infamously George Lucas’s 1986 film version of the strip was a disaster. No pressure.
3 “IT’S FRIDAY. IT’S FIVE TO FIVE. IT’S …”
News that vintage BBC kids’ show Crackerjack is being revived. Alas Peter Glaze and Leslie Crowther are no longer with us so we will have to make do with Sam and Mark.
4 PANTHER SHOT
British photographer Will BurrardLucas has photographed the first confirmed panther in Africa in a century it emerged this week.
Panthers are both rare and not stupid enough to have much to do with human beings, so the image is something of a coup.
5 TIGER TRIPPING
In Houston, Texas, a group of men who entered an abandoned building to smoke something of an illicit nature undisturbed, found within a tiger sleeping in an unlocked cage.
The police, perhaps understandably, assumed the men were hallucinating.
