The Last Wave (BBC4, 9pm)

Fancy a spot of Gallic weirdness to take your mind off the real-life global horror story for a couple of hours? Then rest assured, BBC4 has another double bill to keep you entranced. In episode five of the supernatur­al saga, the drone launch appears to have been successful, albeit at a terrible cost. However, just as life in Brizan is beginning to return to a sense of normality, Thomas spots the cloud again. Gael Raes heads the cast, and in part six screened straight after, the authoritie­s put Brizan into quarantine.

Jonathan Edwards – One Giant Leap (BBC2, 5.30pm)

In 1995, Jonathan Edwards set a triple-jump world record when he leapt an astonishin­g 18.29m at the World Championsh­ips in Gothenburg. To mark the 25th anniversar­y, this documentar­y celebrates his achievemen­t, using archive footage and an interview with the man himself. Edwards also talks about how athletes deal with pressure and how, rather than being a hindrance, it can inspire them.

Rolling In It (STV, 6.25pm)

This new game of chance sees three contestant­s play alongside some of their favourite stars in a bid to go home with a cash prize. But they’ll need to have luck on their side because everything could change at the roll of a coin. Stephen Mulhern welcomes three teams and their celebrity partner. Coronation Street stars Sair Khan, Antony Cotton and Jennie McAlpine hope they have what it takes to win the jackpot in episode one.

Total Wipeout: Paddy & Freddie Takeover (BBC1, 7.10pm)

You may remember Total Wipeout, the show which ran from 2009 to 2012. It was hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram, and featured a series of interestin­g obstacles, including Topple Towers, Sucker Punch, and Wall Swing. Partly shot in Buenos Aires and partly in England, it was a bright and breezy piece of escapism. Now there’s a chance to remind yourself of the manic fun as 20 brave women and men take on a series of crazy obstacles in a bid to make it through to the final three and the chance to win £10,000. Top Gear’s Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness provide the voiceovers. Slip your brain into neutral and enjoy.

Casualty (BBC1, 8.40pm)

Ethan entrusts Fenisha with the truth about his PTSD and the death of Big Al. Inspired by his faith in him, Ethan decides to give HEMS another try and, as the day winds down, Fenisha feels closer to Ethan than ever. Meanwhile, David struggles with his bipolar disorder and Robyn encourages him to step back from Matt. Elsewhere, as Faith prepares for Luka’s proton beam therapy, Dylan’s fury towards Lev builds. Starring George Rainsford, Jason Durr and Jacey Salles.
