Fourteen-year-old Duncan (Liam James) is forced to spend the summer with his mother Pam

(Toni Collette), her new boyfriend Trent (Steve Carell) and Trent’s tearaway teenage daughter Steph. Feeling desperatel­y alone, Duncan ventures to a nearby Water Wizz theme park where the wise-cracking owner Owen takes pity on the miserable teenager and hires him for the summer. Keeping the job secret from his mother, Duncan gains confidence under his reckless mentor.

Die Hard 4.0 (2007) (Film4, 9pm)

They said it would never happen. He’s too old, the critics carped. But, in 2007, Bruce Willis once again bestrode the screen as the character who made him a megastar – dogged cop John McClane. This time around, our wisecracki­ng hero is on the trail of a computer hacker who is suspected of sabotaging the FBI network. Tut tut, but things become increasing­ly complicate­d when McClane stumbles on a far bigger crime.

New series. Return of the documentar­y following life inside an A&E department. The series begins with the story of 22-year-old police officer Hazel, who is rushed to St George’s after crashing her motorbike while out on a ride with her father. Meanwhile, 86-year-old John is admitted to A&E with a suspected ‘triple A’ – a ruptured aortic aneurysm in his abdomen, a condition that can be fatal. The doctors must work quickly to diagnose the cause of the internal bleeding, but their investigat­ions reveal further complicati­ons. John’s children share the story of their father’s life, and his surprising secret that sent shockwaves through the family.
