The team behind the Six by Nico family of restaurants have confirmed a November opening for their new charitable restaurant in Glasgow. Beat 6, which will make its home on Whitehill Street, Dennistoun, will serve a delicious combination of food and social good. Profits will go towards the Beatson Cancer Charity, which supports the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The 34-cover restaurant will have a rotating tasting menu that honours some of the most popular dishes created by the Six By Nico team since opening their first restaurant in Glasgow in 2017. Scotland’s largest cocktail festival returns from this Monday to Sunday, October 24. With 100 partner bars, the event has a cocktail menu that festival goers can enjoy for £4 a piece at all the venues taking part. Classic Movies and Champagne Cocktails at The Scotsman Picturehouse, as well as Cocktail Cruises along the Union Canal, are among the customised experiences, as is the Edinburgh Cocktail Week Cocktail Village in Festival Square, which serves as a haven for sophisticated drinkers (exactly where I’ll be found...)

Killiecrankie House

Killiecrankie House in Perthshire re-opened this week with a new restaurant and five wonderfully designed bedrooms, delivering a little piece of luxury and gastronomy in the Cairngorm National Park. Guests can enjoy a new dinner and cocktail menu in the Drawing Room, which overlooks the kitchen gardens and fruit trees, or in the bijou

Cocktail Bar. I think it’s time I planned a road trip north.
