Swansea with their revolution­ary truck. With their children boomerangi­ng home, nurse Lombe and her scientist husband Gregory are finding their three-bed semi a tight squeeze.

The open plan living is causing family chaos as Gregory is trying to work from home while everyone else watches TV – and with long hours as a frontline care worker, Lombe has nowhere to spend her much needed downtime. Using innovative technology, designer Alex Dauley creates a layout that gives all four adults the space, tranquilli­ty and storage they need. Then, it’s down to resident craftsman Tim Hitchens, alongside the family, to transform the living and dining room.

Gazza (BBC2, 9pm)

Bobby Robson famously described him as “daft as a brush”, while Gary Lineker has said he is “the most naturally gifted technical footballer that I played with”. Regardless of your opinion of Paul Gascoigne, you can’t argue that he is a one of a kind. This two-part documentar­y delves into the iconic player’s rise to fame, from his time as the face of 1990s Britain to his battle with addiction. After covering his upbringing and background, we pick up the story in 1988. When he moves from Newcastle to London to join Terry Venables’ Spurs for a British record transfer fee in July, it pushes him into the national spotlight. Then, at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, he becomes an icon, and Gazzamania is born. However, those close to him worry about his ability to deal with the intense media attention.

Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr (BBC1, 9pm)

Michelle Ogundehin splits the four remaining designers into pairs and challenges them to redesign two cafes in the Kent seaside town of Margate. The aim to to enable the venues to attract a daytime crowd as well as evening punters, so each will need to multifunct­ional spaces. While the owners of one cafe are looking for a cool Caribbean vibe, the others are hoping to avoid seaside cliches. Michelle is joined by Ross Bailey for the judging – which of the hopefuls will go through to the semi-final?

Kate & Koji (STV, 9pm)

While fans of Brenda Blethyn are used to seeing the award-winning actress in her trademark hat and coat as crime-cracking detective Vera, the actress has said that her character in this comedy is miles apart from detective DCI Stanhope. “It’s fun to be abrasive now and again,” she says. We get to see that spiky side of grouchy and uptight cafe owner Kate again tonight as she becomes highly suspicious when her lifelong enemy wants to make peace. Meanwhile, Koji has another problem as he develops a curious symptom. Then, in the series finale, Medium is set to leave for a job abroad.

Grand Designs: The Streets (C4, 9pm)

Kevin McCloud is back in Graven Hill, Oxfordshir­e, the UK’s largest mass self-build site, to witness the trials, setbacks and

successes of those endeavouri­ng to craft their own, highly individual homes. Carlos and Maite have ambitious plans to build a bold, Spanishins­pired home. But Maite doesn’t just want to live in it, she’s also designing it – without any profession­al qualificat­ions. She’s being helped by an architect – but they have rather different ideas about how the house should look.

A&E After Dark (5STAR, 10pm)

The series returns as the night staff at Hull Royal Infirmary battle to save the life of 47-yearold Jane, who has a heart rate more than double the average. Dr Ben and medical student Charlotte try to bring the heart back under control. Paramedic Sally rushes in
