Becoming Elizabeth (StarzPlay, from Sun)

Alicia von Rittberg heads the cast of this lavish period drama exploring the fascinating, untold story of the early life of England’s most iconic Queen. Long before she ascends the throne, young Elizabeth Tudor is an orphaned teenager who finds herself embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court. The death of her father King Henry VIII sees his nineyear-old son Edward take the throne and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when the siblings, alongside their sister Mary, become pawns in a game between the great families of England and the powers of Europe who vie for control of the country. Great support comes from Romola Garai and Oliver Zetterstrom.

Jennifer Lopez: Halftime (Netflix, from Tue)

In February 2020, Jennifer Lopez, draped around a dancer’s pole, made an unforgettable entrance into that year’s SuperBowl halftime show, sharing the stage with Colombian star Shakira in a butt cheek-shaking, big hair-tossing set that electrified audiences. That astonishing, roughly sevenminute performance is among the career highlights showcased in this documentary, directed by Amanda Micheli. It also features J-Lo’s performance at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, as well as her acclaimed turn in the movie Hustlers.

Love, Victor (Disney+, from Wed)

If you haven’t managed to clap eyes on this superb teen comedy drama, created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and inhabiting the same universe as the 2018 flick Love, Simon, pull out all the stops to catch up before the curtain rises on this third season. Michael Cimino reprises his leading role of Victor, and we find him on the brink of a journey of selfdiscovery, not only deciding who he wants to be with, but more broadly, who he wants to be. With their post-high

school-plans looming, he and his friends are faced with a new set of problems and challenges.

God’s Favourite Idiot (Netflix, from Wed)

They’ve shared the big screen several times and now real-life husband and wife team Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy are co-starring in this smart sitcom, which was created by Falcone. He plays midlevel tech support employee Clark Thompson who starts to glow. Shortly afterward, he learns he’s an unwitting messenger of God and is given a mission to help the world. He confides in colleague Amily Luck, who promptly tells anyone who will listen, sparking protests outside his house. As if that wasn’t enough to put a kink in someone’s day, the actual four horsemen show up, and Leslie Bibb has a superb turn as Satan. Plus, there’s roller skating, a lake of fire and an impending apocalypse. All in a day’s work, right?

Cha Cha Real Smooth (Apple TV+, from Fri)

Cooper Raiff writes, directs and stars in this entertaining tale of unconventional love. He is 22-year-old Andrew, fresh out of college and without a clear life path. Stuck back at home with his family in New Jersey, he does have one thing that belongs on his nonexistent CV – how to get a party started, which lands him the perfect job of motivational dancing at the bar and bat mitzvahs for his younger brother’s classmates. When Andrew befriends a local mother, Domino, and her daughter, Lola, he finally discovers a future he wants even if it might not be his own. Dakota Johnson, Brad Garrett and Leslie Mann are amongst the solid cast.
