DB Cooper: Where Are You?! (Netflix, from Wed)

Who was he? Where did he go? Is he dead or alive? These are just some of the questions this documentary seeks to answer about the case of DB Cooper. In 1971, a man identifying himself as Cooper hijacked a plane, forced it to land at SeattleTacoma International

Airport, picked-up his demands of four parachutes and $200,000 cash, and then flew to Nevada, only to parachute out of the aircraft, never to be seen again. Fifty years on, the FBI may no longer pursue the case but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people out there who are trying to solve what is one of the greatest mysteries in American history.

Resident Evil (Netflix, from Thu)

The survival horror game franchise comes to Netflix in a new and exciting eightpart series. Plenty of scares and action are in store as the story of the outbreak of the T-virus that turns its hosts into zombies and creates malformed monsters is told in two time periods. The first, set in 2022, follows the start of the outbreak and virologist Albert Wesker’s work at the sinister Umbrella Corporation. The second, set in 2036, follows Albert’s daughter Jade on the streets of post-apocalyptic London as she fights hordes of blood-thirsty zombies, gigantic spiders and enormous creatures.

Persuasion (Netflix, from Fri)

Netflix’s modern take on Jane Austen arrives. There have been a plethora of screen versions of the renowned author’s works, such as Emma and Pride and Prejudice, but this time it’s Persuasion – her final completed novel – taking centre stage. Eight years after breaking off her engagement, protagonist Anne Elliot must decide between moving on with her life or following her heart when her former fiance Captain Frederick Wentworth comes back into

her life. Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy star Dakota Johnson, Peaky Blinders’ Cosmo Jarvis and Crazy Rich Asians actor Henry Golding are among the cast in British theatre director Carrie Cracknell’s film debut. Look out too for Richard E Grant, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Suki Waterhouse among the impressive supporting cast.

James May: Our Man in Italy (Amazon Prime, from Fri)

Buongiorno! The former Top Gear presenter and current Grand Tour alumnus is back on our screens in a brand new series. Following the success of Our Man in Japan, May is being sent off on his travels again, albeit a little closer to home this time. He’s no stranger to Italy – he regards it as one of his favourite countries – so there’s no wonder he’s so happy about being paid to take a tour of the place. Nice work if you can get it! He’ll be calling at such places as Palermo and the Dolomites, taking on challenges including cheese-making and canoeing – some of which look set to end in disaster – but it’s his creation of a ‘full English’ pizza that looks set to upset the locals.

Flee (Disney+, from Fri)

When Danish director Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s animated documentary premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, it received praise from critics and audience members. Rasmussen features in the film, interviewing his friend Amin Nawabi, who recalls the details of his escape from Afghanistan and arrival in Denmark, an event which has left him traumatised.
