-

TWO members of Celtic followers the “Green Brigade” have been cleared of behaviour like to incite public disorder, despite the evidence of two police constables in the specialist Football Co-ordination Unit.

Finding Liam Young, 19, of Kirkhill Gardens, and Stefan Morrison, 24, of St Andrew’s Road, both of Ardrossan, not guilty, Sheriff Margaret Neilson noted her disappointment the officers did not use body cameras to film the incident.

“Had their been video evidence things would have been a lot clearer.” she said.

The Sheriff concluded she was not satisfied fiscal depute David Morton had met the test of the new legislation.

PC Craig Jardine told the court the unit had information that rival Celtic supporter gangs, The Green Brigade and the Stilemile Vandals were intending to fight at the Inverness Caledonian Thistle versus Celtic game last November.
