Dogs keep holidaymakers in UK
AN ESTIMATED 1.4 million people will stay in the UK for a holiday this year so they can take their dog with them, according to a new study.
A survey found that eight per cent of holidaymakers planning a domestic break in 2016 are doing so because they do not want to be away from their dog.
In Scotland one in 10 people who have planned a staycation this year are doing so to accommodate their pets.
The survey of 2,000 people by Post Office Travel Insurance found that 79 per cent of people intend to take a UK-based holiday this year.
