Council chief in Lego row to quit
THE co-leader of Abertdeenshire Council has resigned after he walked out of a trip to Legoland in Denmark and compared his luxury chalet to “Butlins in the 1970s”. Martin Kitts-Hayes and a delegation from the local authority left the conference early, with the aborted trip costing £3,500. Chief executive Jim Savege said Mr Kitt-Hayes intends to resign as co-leader and chairman of the policy and resources committee by September 29.
