First phase of airport link opens
THE first phase of the £15.2million link road near Aberdeen Airport has opened.
The three-lane dual carriageway was commissioned by Aberdeen City Council and will also relieve pressure on the busy A96, bring improvements to traffic in the Dyce area, and provide opportunities to bus routes to access the airport more easily.
The road is the first phase of the 1,000-space Dyce Park and Choose project and is designed to connect into the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
It is part of a wider strategic plan to connect with other major infrastructure projects which are designed to ease congestion.
Council leader Jenny Laing said: “I am delighted the link road opened because it will be great for commuters getting in and around Dyce and will be beneficial for people getting to the airport for their holidays or work.”
