Choir performs greatest hits

AYR Choral Union is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year and has a “Greatest Hits” concert at Ayr Town Hall on Sunday from 7pm. Gerry Doherty will conduct the choir and an orchestra of professional musicians with Gordon Cree at the organ and soloists Marie Claire Breen, Cheryl Forbes and Andrew McTaggart. The programme includes the premier of new piece by the choir’s patron Sir James MacMillan alongside works by Handel, Faure, Vivaldi and Mozart. ayrchoralunion.net
