Half of us will forget Pancake Day

MORE than half of Britons will forget it’s Shrove Tuesday this week until the day itself, according to a report.

Almost oe-fifth will be reminded when they check social media on the day, and one in 10 will hear about it from a colleague at work during the day – which falls tomorrow – according to Sainsbury’s.

In addition, one third say that catering for different tastes, and offering a variety of pancake fillings, leads to food being thrown away.

Ironically, Shrove Tuesday is traditionally about feasting on leftover foods that will not last the 40 days of Lent.
