Late Dunlop chief’s vintage cars for sale

-

VINTAGE cars collected by the late former Dunlop boss Sir Colin Hope are set to fetch up to £90,000 at auction next month.

Sir Colin, who died in August 2015, was a leading figure in the automotive industry who spent most of his life in Scotland.

His private passion was restoring and running his six vintage Armstrong Siddeleys from the 1920s and 1930s.

The vehicles will be sold by motoring specialists H&H Classics in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, on March 29.

Damian Jones, Head of Sales at H&H Classics, said: “The late Sir Colin Hope was a lifelong car enthusiast who had owned various Bugattis and Rileys before building a collection of Armstrong Siddeleys in later life.

“He had an acute appreciation of Britain’s motoring heritage and was determined to champion Armstrong Siddeleys, a once great marque often forgotten these days.”
