Miracle baby’s first birthday

-

A BABY who was so small when she was born that she could fit into her mother’s hand has celebrated her first birthday.

Born on Father’s Day at 24 weeks, and weighing just 1.28lbs, tiny Hafsa was dangerously premature.

Now a year on, proud parents Zerqua and Mansha Mohammed Shahid, from Stornoway, on Lewis, have brought Hafsa back to both the Western Isles Hospital and the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow to show staff how their miracle baby has blossomed. The trip was to pay tribute to the “wonderful NHS staff” who looked after them.
