C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 2,002 prime lambs in Longtown on Thursday to a top of £129 per head and 324p per kg to average 237.4p (+3.4p on the week), while 1,823 prime hoggs peaked at £110 and 225p to level at 177.4p (-10.1p).

The firm also had 3,791 cast sheep forward when heavy ewes sold to £157 for Texels and averaged £87.23 (-£3.38), while light ewes peaked at £78 for Blackfaces and levelled at £55.22 (-£2.13).

Rams sold to £141 for a Charollais and averaged £82.13.
