Teenage girl post-mortem

A POST-MORTEM examinatiomn is to take place after a teenage girl was found dead in a park in “unexplained” circumstances.

The 14-year-old girl, named locally as Rhiann Milne, was discovered in Bourtreehill Park, Irvine, at around 11.45am on Monday.

North Ayrshire Council said it was offering counselling and support to youngsters in the area.

A spokesman for the local authority said: “We are extremely saddened by the tragic death of a hardworking and conscientious pupil and our immediate thoughts are with the family.

“We shall ensure we reach out to our school communities.”
