Fisherman hurt on boat
A FISHERMAN was being ferried through rough seas by a lifeboat last night after badly injuring his hand off Shetland.
The man was aboard a 60ft vessel about 50 miles south-east of Lerwick when the accident occurred at around 2.15pm.
Coastguards set up a radio link with a doctor, who was sent pictures of the injury.
Lerwick Lifeboat was launched just after 3pm and battled stormy seas to reach the injured crewman, who was expected to arrive in the Shetland port around 7.30pm.
He will be transferred to the Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
