Red, Red Rose Street

ROBERT Burns will be remembered with a series of events being held in Edinburgh city centre.

Red, Red Rose Street will take place in and around the capital’s historic street, with a Burns Supper, family ceilidhs, comedy nights and Burns workshops. The event, which was first held last year, will run from Burns Night – January 25 – until January 27.

Josh Littlejohn, of Social Bite, will give the Immortal Memory address at the Burns supper, with a donation from tickets going towards his organisation’s campaign to end homelessness.

The programme was launched yesterday by Edinburgh School of Music pupils Lucy Ruuskanen and Stephanie Humpreys, with International Develepment Minister Dr Alasdair Allan and Robert Burns lookalike Gareth Morrison.
