Ex-university doctor on molestation charges

A FORMER university doctor is to face trial accused of molesting patients at a student medical centre up to 25 years ago.

Allan Buchan, 56, is said to have touched and held the genitals of two male patients on various occasions when not medically required to do so.

The incidents are said to have occurred at the Airthrey Park Health Centre on the campus of Stirling University between January 1993 and May 1999.

Dr Buchan faces two charges of assault. At Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday, his solicitor, Virgil Crawford, tendered pleas of not guilty by letter to both charges.

Dr Buchan, of Falkirk, Stirlingshire, was not present.
