Man City to play second leg against Real Madrid at Etihad
Manchester City will play the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie against Real Madrid at the Etihad, Uefa has confirmed.
Uefa communicated that all second legs of the remaining last-16 ties postponed due to coronavirus will be played at the home teams’ stadiums.
The news is a boost for Pep Guardiola’s side, who hold a 2-1 advantage from winning the first leg at the Bernabeu, with uncertainty previously surrounding the location of the second leg due to the coronavirus pandemic.
West Indies’ humble Holder not getting carried away
West Indies may hold a 147-run lead over England, but a typically humble Jason Holder was reluctant to laud their position at stumps on day two. Mark Wood, however, had no qualms in acknowledging the visitors’ dominance so far.
“I think they are on top,” admitted Wood. “They have done really well today, bowled really well, showed us the way to go. We were in a similar position first innings, so have a chance to make it right like they did. We had a fairly decent bit with [Rory] Burns and [Joe] Denly, then lost a few wickets. We have plenty to put right in the morning and try to make an impact.”
After a seventh five-wicket haul, Holder beamed: “It feels good, man. It’s a proud moment getting six wickets in England. Anything to help this team. My role is to contribute with bat and ball. It’s on the back of a wonderful bowling unit.”
