Maurice. The governors and trustees of Simon Marks Jewish Primary School mourn Maurice’s sad passing. He was a long-time devoted supporter, governor and trustee. His constant help and advice will be sorely missed.

Solomon Joseph, aged 91, passed away peacefully at the Morris Feinmann home in Manchester on Friday, March 16, 2012. Solly had a long, successful career as a civil servant in London, with several years spent in South Africa and Ghana, working as a board member of British Steel and including receiving the Companion of St Michael and St George. For many years he had been an active member of the Barnet Synagogue, however he is also remembered for his work and support for Woodside Park Synagogue in the 1960s and 1970s. Solly was preceded in death by Doris, his wife for more than 50 years. Together they had a long, loving friendship and strong partnershi­p. Solly was beloved by his two daughters Ruth and Judith and will also be missed by their husbands Stephen and Nigel and five grandchild­ren Anne, Michael, Laura, Charles and Elisabeth. Burial and services were held at Bushey Cemetery in London. Solly is also survived by his brother Chaim Moshe Gross of Stamford Hill and sister Judith Sofrei of Sde Eliyahu. Gerald. A beloved husband to Beulah, father to Andrew and Claire, father-in-law to Elaine and Haris, grandfathe­r to Katie and Tim, Sophie, James, Nick and Alexis and great-grandfathe­r to Layla and Freya, sadly passed away at the age of 93. A very special man, he will forever be missed and in our hearts.

Gerald. A wonderful and much loved grandfathe­r and greatgrand­father; a true gentleman, who will be missed beyond words by Katie, Tim, Layla and Freya.

Michael. We mourn the recent sudden tragic loss of our dear cousin, Michael, whilst away on holiday in Mexico. We all recently celebrated together at his son James’ wedding to Kate. Barbara (née Rubins). Passed away March 20. Beloved and loving wife to Jonathan for 46 years and wonderful mum to Richard and James, with Amanda and Nicole. Adoring grandma to her five grandchild­ren: Joseph and Max; and Talia, Ben and Jack. At peace at last. A beautiful, charismati­c and elegant lady. Her spirit and love of life will always remain with us and she will forever be part of our lives.
