Academic gets Mid East book grant
AN ACADEMIC from Edge Hill University, Lancashire, has won a £37,000 grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council for a book looking at the influence of British policy on the Middle East during the First World War.
Dr James Renton, who is writing The Middle East: The Rise and Fall of an Idea, said: “The story of Britain’s political influence on the region has a lot to tell us about the challenges that currently face the Middle East.”
