Soldier’s grave desecrated in Libya

-

THE GRAVE of a Jewish soldier killed in action in Libya in the Second World War was among those desecrated by vandals in a British military cemetery in the city of Benghazi. The Jewish Military Museum said it was saddened to learn that the headstone of Second Lieutenant Harold James Adler was one of more than 200 damaged in the attack in late February.

Lt Adler, who served with the Rifle Brigade in Egypt and Libya, was killed on February 25 1942.
