COUNTER POINT
At the recent Marks &Spencer AGM I took the opportunity to ask the head of international business why, while there are M&S branches in the countries surrounding Israel, such as Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Bahrain, there was no branch in Israel — M&S in Tel Aviv closed in 2000.
He replied that it was because M&S could not find an operator in Israel able to market their goods at a high enough standard! Kay Bagon Homefield Road, Radlett, Herts
