HEROIC POLES HONOURED

TRIBUTE WAS paid to 50 Polish “Righteous Among the Nations” by US ambassador Stephen Mull at a reception in their honour in Warsaw hosted by the New York-based Jewish Foundation for the Righteous. One rescuer, Leszek Mikolajkow, said he was “slightly embarrassed” by the ceremony. “We had to save them, it was just a reflex,” he said.
