CHIEF TO MEET CHIEF

THE ASHKENAZI Chief Rabbi of Israel, David Lau, is to make his first official visit to the UK since his election last year. He is to be a guest speaker at Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis’s first pre-High Holy Day conference for the Orthodox rabbinate next month. Rabbi Lau was elected in June 2013. At 47, he is the youngest rabbi to hold the post. Rabbi Mirvis has said that links with Israel would be a priority during his leadership.
