LIB DEMS WON’T ACT OVER WARD TWEET
THE LIBERAL Democrats will not take disciplinary action against Bradford East MP David Ward over his tweet last month that he would “probably” fire a rocket if he lived in Gaza. Party chief whip Don Foster said that comment had not brought the Lib Dems into disrepute and had not been motivated by antisemitism. The subsequent apology from the MP “should draw a line under this matter”, he believed. The party had initially said leader Nick Clegg “utterly condemned” Mr Ward’s comments.
