Rabbi ‘lured girls for sex’

A RABBI who heads four sem­i­nar­ies for Ortho­dox women in Is­rael is be­ing sued for sex­ual as­sault and fraud.

A law­suit against Rabbi Elim­elech Meisels was filed last week at a Chicago court by four par­ents of girls due to at­tend the sem­i­nar­ies next aca­demic year.

The suit al­leges that Rabbi Meisels would lure girls “into late night cof­fee meet­ingsan­dother­pri­vate­set­tingsand then sex­u­ally as­sault them”. It claims he threat­ened to ruin girls’ mar­riage prospects if they re­ported him.

Rabbi Meisels told JTA: “The al­le­ga­tions are com­pletely false.”

The sem­i­nar­ies named in the suit are Peninim, Bi­nas Bais Yaakov, Ched­vas Bais Yaakov and Keser Chaya.
