Rabbi ‘lured girls for sex’
A RABBI who heads four seminaries for Orthodox women in Israel is being sued for sexual assault and fraud.
A lawsuit against Rabbi Elimelech Meisels was filed last week at a Chicago court by four parents of girls due to attend the seminaries next academic year.
The suit alleges that Rabbi Meisels would lure girls “into late night coffee meetingsandotherprivatesettingsand then sexually assault them”. It claims he threatened to ruin girls’ marriage prospects if they reported him.
Rabbi Meisels told JTA: “The allegations are completely false.”
The seminaries named in the suit are Peninim, Binas Bais Yaakov, Chedvas Bais Yaakov and Keser Chaya.
