LE­GION D’HON­NEUR FOR D-DAY HERO

SEC­OND WORLD War vet­eran, Mor­ris Baum re­ceived France’s high­est dec­o­ra­tion, the Lé­gion d’hon­neur, in recog­ni­tion of his part in the D-Day land­ings. Lon­doner Mr Baum, 91, re­ceived the award from am­bas­sador Sylvie Ber­mann at a cer­e­mony at the French em­bassy. The pen­sioner, who served in the Navy, said: “It made me very emo­tional. It makes me think ‘what about all the peo­ple who didn’t come back? Where are their hon­ours?’”
