Londoner Mr Baum, 91, received the award from ambassador Sylvie Bermann at a ceremony at the French embassy. The pensioner, who served in the Navy, said: “It made me very emotional. It makes me think ‘what about all the people who didn’t come back? Where are their honours?’”
