United we aremuch stronger
I’VE ALWAYS had many Jewish friends but have never before had the opportunity to work on a project together with them.
Children of Adam hold weekly food drives for the homeless on Sundays at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, Holborn. Innovative Muslim Minds (IMM) thought it would be a great idea to collaborate with them, alongside Mitzvah Day 365 and City Sikhs, to arrange an interfaith food drive for the homeless.
There were 150 portions of rice and meat from Abu Zaad restaurant, 100 portions of salad donated by Eat, 100 portions of rice and chicken donated by a volunteer, fruit, snacks and hot and cold drinks. IMM also set out to purchase winter essentials such as hats, gloves, socks and toiletries to distribute. Mitzvah day 365 volunteers donated clothes and City Sikhs bought refreshments.
I was amazed at the amount of support given by members of the different communities. I received phone calls from people I didn’t know offering to help.
This is just a small example of a time when people come together to give to those in need, regardless of background, creed or religion. As individuals there is only so much we can achieve. United we are stronger. Innovative Muslim Minds
