Concerts in memory of tragic Liora

- BY LIANNE KOLIRIN

A YOUNG woman who died from a sudden illness is to be remembered in a series of fundraising concerts.

Liora Rosenberg, a former JFS pupil, died in April aged 20 after falling critically ill with a bleed on the brain and pneumonia.

Now her family and friends are paying tribute to her with several live gigs to raise money for an ambulance through the Hatzola charity.

Two concerts will be held on November 2 and 3 in Soho, central London. The musical sets will include songs by Amy Winehouse.

In the days before Liora’s death, more than 14,500 people signed up to a Facebook group which asked users to do a mitzvah in her name. Together, they raised more than £27,000 for Hatzola.

Miss Rosenberg’s parents, who are members of Hendon United Synagogue, maintained a vigil at the Royal London Hospital during her illness.
