lose the game with only five minutes left to go but it’s hard to criticise the team after a quality and high-energy performance like that.

“If we can play to a similar level every week in the league we will pick up a lot of wins.”

Avi Garson and Josh Barnett earned Faithfold B a 2-1 win over Boca Jewniors.

Faithfold’s David Benaim said: “It was a far from convincing display but winning was all that matters and we are in the next round.”

Jamie Leboff registered for Boca. Manager Anton Nyman commented: “We started far too slowly and let in two goals in the first 10 minutes. We fought back very well, but it was too little too late and we left ourselves too much of an uphill task.”

Dan Yoss (2) and Shai Davidi earned Faithfold A a 3-2 win over second division promotion hopefuls L’Equipe. Max Martin and Mark Singer replied.

Jon Jacobs believes Redbridge Jewish Care A’s victory over Brady Mac- cabi showed signs of improvement and maturity after they joined Hendon United at the top of the MGBSFL Premier Division.

First-half strikes from Sam Sollosi, Nathan Sollosi and recent arrival Zack Neiman put them in the ascendancy against newly-promoted Brady.

Matt Frohlich hauled Brady back into the contest with a secondhalf double but another strike from Nathan Sollosi ensured Redbridge extended their winning run to five matches in the league.

“This was just the kind of game that we’d have tripped up in previously,” said Jacobs.

“We will take the points and move on to our next training session when we will iron out some of the second-half glitches.”

Brady joint-manager Josh Dagul describes his team’s first-half display as “very disappointing” as they slumped to a second consecutive defeat.

Oakwood A lost ground in the title race after being held 3-3 by FC Team

Brad Cohen, James Korn and player-manager Mitch Young found the net for FC Team. Jonny Quinn, David Woolman and Rafi Stone accounted for the Oakwood goals in a match they finished with 10 players following the dismissal of Max Clynes.

“It was an outstanding performance from my team,” said Young. “Yet again we were down to the bare bones but fought back well and in truth should have won the game in the final stages.

“Oakwood are a physical team and we handled them very well, restricted them to very few chances and their defence could not handle Richard Salmon.”

Oakwood co-boss Dan Kristall believes the absence of several regulars had a negative effect and said: “There are more people in the treatment room than on the pitch and it is hurting us.

“It’s important our key players return as soon as possible to remain in the title race. We are going to have to win some big matches so hopefully we will thrive under that pressure.”

Johnny Haik scored the goal of the game as Maccabi London Lions A returned to winning ways against

Haik fired a sublime 25-yard half-volley into the top corner, with Alex Rose, Dominic Cheniart and Sam Castle adding the gloss in a 4-2 victory.

Ashley Burns and Daniel Pike struck for SPEC.

Two goals from Josh Bloom helped the Maccabi London Lions B extend their lead at the top of Division One following a 4-1 victory over Los Blancos.

Reflecting on a win capped by strikes from Michael Kenley and Dom Feldman, Lions boss Sam Marchant remarked: “Performance-wise we were not at our best and I think the scoreline does not paint a very fair picture of how the game was.” Oakwood B closed the gap at the top as strikes from Sam Modlin, Daniel Seligman, Dan Ash and Jacob Richler Kleiman secured their first league win against lowly Brixton.

Oaks boss J a s o n Stein remarked: “It was comfortable for us. I’m pleased with the attitude even if we did waste a number of chances.” Redbridge C suffered their firstleaguedefeatastheywereshocked 1-0 by struggling FC Team B courtesy of a late free-kick from Jamie Breslaw.
