- BYDANNYCARO NICK Lewis rescued double winners in extra-time against Division One high-flyers sur-

FOOTBALL North London Raid- ers A Redbridge Jewish Care B.

Redbridge had led twice, through Daniel Orgel and Scott Kaye, but they were pegged back by a resilient NLR team for whom Jack Roberts and David Cohen registered.

Lewis then put NLR 3-2 before Kane Hopps levelled. With penalties looming, Lewis cracked home a 25-yarder to send NLR through.

NLR boss Dan Shafron said: “Credit to Redbridge, they came with a gameplan and very nearly executed it. They worked incredibly hard, defended well and took their chances when they came.

“We made really hard work of it and were relieved to progress.”

RJC boss Sam Rank commented: “Fair play to Raiders. They found it frustrating at times, but won the tie with a brilliant goal.”

Second division Faithfold B prised first division strugglers Athletic Bilbaum 3-0 courtesy of strikes from Louis Taylor, Jeremy Teacher and Sam Garson.

Faithfold’s Sam Garson said: “It felt good to hold on to a lead and we got stronger as the game progressed. We were solid at the back and creative going forward.”

A late strike from Charlie Rubin helped Maccabi London Lions A come from two goals down to end the cup aspirations of Lions B in a five-goal thriller.

A first-half double from Michael Kenley had put Lions B in charge, but two goals from man-of-the-match Adam Burchell gave Lions A a lifeline before Rubin settled it in the closing stages.
