VICTIM STORY: ‘HE WAS EXUDING HATE’

-

ANDI Pacurar was dining in a restaurant in Ilford, Essex, on May 26 last year when he heard a male voice say to him: “You know you’re my enemy?”

Initially, Mr Pacurar could not understand why he was being insulted.

But it became clear the man had recognised Mr Pacurar was Jewish and on five separate occasions told him: “I’ll kill you,” ranting: “You’re the worst thing in this world – these people in here shouldn’t feed you, you have spread all the diseases around the world.”

Still spouting abuse, the man was escorted out of the restaurant by the owner.

Police said the lack of CCTV evidence woud make a criminal prosecution impossible. “The man’s hate for Jews was exuding from his face,” says Mr Pacurar.

“It was simple, clear, profound, hate for Jewish people.”

The incident had changed him, Mr Pacurar said. “It puts things in a new perspective — the fear, the disgust, the pity, the hope you feel for such people, it changes you.”
