Passing on the hors d’oeuvres

IS there a new trend in streamlined kosher dining? Monday’s World Jewish Relief dinner on Monday dispensed with a first course. But the well-stocked sushi bar and plentiful reception canapes were such that some guests were left wondering whether there was any need for a main course either.
